Vista,.. should be burned. But it's what I have to work with. This computer just won't handle much more than this,.. I had to re-install Vista as the Windows 10 Upgrade seriously borked it. Of course,.. it's a Gateway box to boot.. gag

But should there be any reason why Chocolatey won't install?

Win 10 should be lighter, not heavier than Vista.

Any reason not to use Linux here?

Vista is so old but I assume that Chocolatey will still run there.

Gateway box for what? Really seems like a headless linux OS would work for that.

This is my In-Laws computer. No way they are open to Linux. I am considering dual boot for my use.. but will need to edit the boot config so Windows loads first.

Well - crap. Guess it's back to Ninite for this box.

What are they doing? Probably web browsing at most. Just install Deepin, it's really sleak.

Don't ask, just do. They are likely the perfect candidates for it.

Seriously toss it, buy them a Chromebook and move on. You've already wasted to much time on this 8+ year old computer.
