This only works for certain functions. As someone who needs to do this, I can tell you, it works but it is more cumbersome than you'd hope and very slow.
Right, it works for email and calendar though. What else do users need?
From the administration side, that is different.
It makes authentication to other apps complex.
If you tie your Google account to other services instead of using a unique log in, then that is your own problem for being a bad user.
I only have an issue with using Google as an authenticator because -- well I don't really know why any more..
So what's your issue with using Google as an authenticator?

Btw you can use gmail via thunderbird or oytlook or any other mua if yiu do not like web interfaces.
We are gsuite customers an we are noticing some issues with really busy accounts. The web interfaces tend to stall but we also use a number of 3rd party extensions to fit our needs. -
@Dashrender @JaredBusch you can use firefox and still do fast account switching, with chrome it just has higher level integration.
When using all the tools out their for sales its way easier to use G Suite. And I still have 200 free users for ulingo.com from 2005 when it was in beta.
