I wanted to post this as I use reverb.com at times to sell music gear. Would be cool if there was a community and marketplace as such for tech gear. Ebay is great a pain in the ass, and it seems you have to be a powerseller to move things. With ML having a community it would be easier to separate scammers from real people. (Or I think it would, could just bring the problem of scammers to ML doors).

Maybe a section so people could turn it silent. Or maybe @scottalanmiller or @Minion-Queen would be interested in setting something up.

On reverb.com they charge for "bumps" Meaning your stuff can go to the top for a certain number of searches or views. Currently a $4/bump would net you 1,000 views.

I usually find myself selling stuff on reverb.com only to turn around buying something that is a good deal.

Not that I don't think ML needs a market place, I don't think it fits with the focus of the community.

Posting you have things to sell here is perfectly fine, but adding a market place would be odd. It's super simple to tell who the real people are on ML. They may be in the market looking for something, or they may know some one who is looking and can recommend them to come buy from you.

It could also be me as I have been trying to clean out my garage for months, and yet I hate to take things like that to goodwill. I got a little bit of my own office space for my new little startup, but there the stuff in my garage would fill up a whole 1 (of 3) offices.
