Fleet laptops - what do you like?

If you're sticking to a single vendor what do you like for fleet laptops?
Less weight is highly desirable
15" display (1366 x 768)
4-8 GB RAM (4 is enough for our daily tasks at this time)
120 GB SSD
Windows ProChromebooks won't work, please don't ask.

Asus has a nice line of equipment in the ZenBook.
I really would like to get one, but I just don't need it.
-
I'm talking about about buying 30 of these.
I don't think of Asus as a fleet computer - personally not a fan of Asus, but am willing to look if given enough reason.
-
@JaredBusch's Dell units are back on tap at this point as well.

Why wouldn't you consider Asus as a fleet computer?

Because I = biased against them from past history. Plus I'm completely unaware of Asus as a business product.
I just jumped on their website - looks like they do have something they call commercial.
https://i.imgur.com/5ZxYf3h.pngI had a Zenbook years ago. It lasted just short of two years with no issues. From that point on it wouldn't power on reliably. I had to remove the battery (after removing torque screws from the bottom) to unplug the non user serviceable battery. This trick only worked for about a month, then it just stopped powering on at all. Searching around the web showed my issue was not unique. This is my reason for anti-Asus feelings.

Personal bias shouldn't be a consideration.
Using historical information could give you some weight here. Like Lenovo and superfish and everything else with them.

Personal bias based on personal experience is all most of us have.
Now that said - I suppose I could do some searches and try to find some shops have have more than two or three in production use and see how they are going. Of course I'd really prefer to hear from someone who's running 30+ because with those types of exposure, you have a better feel for how well they work.
For example, NTG's exposure to 30+ Surface Pro 3's with tons of issues gives me more real feeling than just random I hate my SP3 posted online, although, not that much more, because we've only been told they've had 30 or so fail.. not how many where out there in total that they support (at least I don't recall him mentioning that).

The business line of laptops from Asus seems to lack a 15" monitor option, 14 seems to be all that they carry. Is the monitor size a requirement from management/functionality?
-
We run Dell laptops and desktops here. I don't interact with them much but I know our workstation group likes the E5480 series.

This is currently unknown. But most of our users are older. So small screens, even magnifying them to 140% means less things on the screen at once, which means more scrolling. And scrolling is a death blow. We can't get away from scrolling all together, but less is better.

So then I guess gaming laptops are what you should be looking at, not business laptops. Something with massive screens, limited portability, and stupidly large batteries.
-
They have a 15.6" screen... but it's 4K so that's going to be a pain for older users.
-
We run Dell Latitude E5470s, E6420s, E6440s. They are okay. Nothing to write home about but no major issues either. The support contract that you negotiate is key. Get Dell Pro support and you are golden. Usually, if you negotiate it, you can get it thrown in for free. Of course when we order it is usually over 200 laptops.

Yep. We get free Dell Support on all our models and we have two "licensed" Dell techs on staff. So we can do all of our own repairs. Parts come either by a courier in a few hours if we request.

We currently run the HP Probook 6500 or 650 series laptops.
Specs
15.1 display (1366 x 768)
i5 processor
4 GB RAM
500 GB HDD
Win Pro
DVD burnerI'm simply looking for a replacement. The need for a DVD drive has been removed. I'd like to get an SSD, but might have to add that after market to save money.
Additionally - lighter machines have been requested. Currently we waste time talking to patients and writing down the answers on paper, then give that paper to another person who then transcribes the answers into the EHR.
The claim is that the staff refuses to carry their heavy laptops from the counter top into the patient room (about 15 feet), because they are heavy and they don't want to risk dropping the laptops.
Now before someone goes all funny again - nope, don't want expense of military grade crap that can withstand drops/falls, etc.
In speaking with the supervisor, they believe that staff will be more willing to carry their laptops if they are lighter - at least she would be.

The only vendor that I would stay away from in Lenovo. I am not a big fan of HP because of past experiences but then I hear of people have similar experiences with Dell, which I have not had. So I always try to keep an open mind. As long as Dell makes laptops that work with our current docking stations we will not go away from them because of the cost of replacing docking stations. As soon as they don't we will be open to which ever vendor we feel can meet our needs the best, except Lenovo.
-
I'd personally look at the Asus Business line of hardware, Dell and HP and omg Lenovo all seem a bit drab, and lacking in performance / price competitiveness.
Do you need ultra portability?
