The download doesn't want to work for me from the MangoCon Hotel.... It'll be a good year if this is the only failure here!

      How's the internet otherwise?

It's actually decent this year. Haven't had an issue, and I was a bit of an a** yesterday and downloaded an iso during @scottalanmiller's long talk.

The store seems to be pretty outdated, but other than that it's really sleek

                    Installation Requirements

Please ensure that your computer has satisfied these requirements, if your computer is under the standard, you may not experience deepin prefectly:

CPU: Intel Pentium IV 2GHz or higher
Memory: more than 2G RAM, 4G or higher is recommended
Disk: more than 10 GB free disk space

Besides, you need to burn a CD and a CD writer. If you don’t have these devices, you can visit Deepin website to download ISO file and create boot disk.

Deepin Terminal is super nice! 😄

Tabbed, and has a Remote Management features that lets you add servers for quick access.

@aaronstuder That's actually a nice looking terminal. If only the download were working.

I had to make sure I was downloading from Sourceforge, I had to choose that and not use their default download button or else it was going to take 12 hours.

I've noticed that LibreOffice on Deepin is actually hideously ugly. It is pretty clear that it is an afterthought. They expect you to use the other office suite and LO is just there for required functionality.

Easy fix. This package is missing and does not install by default. Install this and all is better.

                                      sudo apt-get install libreoffice-gtk

No, I need the RoG to work and Deepin doesn't have a live install to test it first. So I'd be taking a risk that I'd create a tonne of work for myself needing to restore it all on the likely chance that the install would fail. So I've been wary to test it.

Okay. I'm going to carve out a partition and try it on mine (dual boot) and see what happens. I'll let you know how it goes. (today/tomorrow/sometime)
