Windows Update breaks RDP into desktops....
Do you mean enforces the policy that you shouldn't be RDPing into desktops for daily use.
Ah... Curtis.
-
Did you guys know that Curtis has been an IT guy and a hairdresser since 1994? This is not a joke. He himself said this.

Wouldn't surprise me.

@wirestyle22 wow...

Just so I am up to speed. Curtis and AngelDeath are the same person, right?

You really have to dig through his threads but you will find some whoppers. There is a reason that he was the first person banned from the SP. He'll have months of no posting or okay posting and then a few months of complete insanity.
Also he said he was a teacher at one point, that is the scary part. Seems to me like the woodshop teacher missing a few fingers.
What is SP?

I don't think so, never heard of that later name.

SP = Spice Peppers. On Spiceworks it is a secret, private area where many of the "spicier" level people can talk without being seen by us "normals".
-
@scottalanmiller it is the OP of this thread..
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1964650-serious-windows-10-network-bug
Just comparing their dialogue. It seems like they are both the same person.

Seems out of character, but hard to say.

Spicy Peppers is not secret by any means. Has not been for years. It was originally a good sounding board for SW community managers to sound things off of active community members. But that went south years ago also.
It is not private either. Access is automatically granted upon reach Thai. You have no access by choice.

I see what you're saying. I get the same feeling when I read both threads, but the actual dialogue to get to the same feeling is different. It's like their trying to describe a UFO sighting. It has the same kind of odd certainty to it.

It's still selective. People like Curtis does not get access. I thought it was automatic and found out later that it was not. Most people get it, but not all.
It's still secret, or effectively so. People have let the cat out of the bag, but it is not officially announced anywhere that I know and I never hear from anyone that hasn't gotten access that they know that it exists. If it was public that it existed, people who don't get access upon getting to Thai would be pretty put out.

Selective is not private. Anyone that reaches Thai gains access unless there are other circumstances that cause the CM to take action on an account.
It is automatic. Curtis was specifically disallowed by the CM at the time for whatever internal reasons. I was not part of that discussion and have no idea. I only know that because it was posted later and I read that post. I do not know if he had it and was removed or what. I don't care, honestly. But it most certainly is automatic.
There are public posts (watercooler) specifically mentioning the spicy peppers group going back to at least 2014. if not before. It is not secret.

I was told at the time that it was selective and he didn't get it. It was always secret when I was involved and from all I can tell, remains secret. Where is it announced if it is not secret? No one seems to know about it still. The fact that we are having this discussion is because someone didn't know

That's someone telling a secret, it's still officially secret AFAIK. It's not officially spoken of.

You were calling the Ubiquiti UNMS public because there is public but not announced information about it.
You cannot have it both ways, just because you like calling this one secret because you don't like the Spicy Pepper group. Also your timeline for "at the time" is horrible old. You have been self recused for years and things change constantly. maybe in the very first couple year it was not automatic. But it has been since before I hit Thai a long ass time ago.

It was PUBLIC. On Github. That is totally public. The SP is not public, you can't get to it. If you are not in the private club you can't see the posts. That's the polar opposite of the Github situation.
