This past week openSuse Tumbleweed has updated to GCC 7 as its default compiler. This makes openSuse Tumbleweed the first major distribution to have made the leap forward to the new compiler version. GCC 7 brings enhancements to the entire platform including additional security. Lots of other recent updates as well in Tumbleweed, many were held back as prep for the GCC change were made. Mono is has notably been updated.

Good to see. Probably adds a little performance boost as well, newer compilers normally do.
