but the UK's MI5 agency is said to have helped build a spyware attack for Samsung TVs.

LOL - and I was already unplugging network access from my Samsung TV.

The CIA leaked them because they lost control of the Tools; they released them to this vendor and that vendor, and no longer knew who had them. Therefore, they leaked it to WikiLeaks so the vulnerabilities could be widely known and fixed.

I love the 'makes us less safe' bs from the CIA and FBI. Just total lies that most people believe because someone 'with authority' tells them so.
What is 'less safe' for everybody in this country except them is keeping these vulnerabilities to themselves so they can hack any American's tv or smartphone without consequence. But they dont do that, they told us so.

Yes, investigate the leaks and not the infringement of privacy.

That's willing though, we agree to that through TOS and using their services. This is an invasion of privacy.

While it's true the TOS is there, less than 1% actually read it. None the less, anyone using these services, if they sit down and think about it will realize they are giving this information to them freely.

That is definitely not the case for our government - I offer them nothing they don't specifically ask for.. instead they just hack for it.

Well, duh. When I told the owners here about the last time we saw a major attack, they said the same thing "I bet that's a US government agency disguising themselves by using hacked computers in Russia" It really is nice to work with people that have at least a few brain cells to rub together.

I'm heading to the Russian border in a week! But doesn't look like there will be time to actually cross it this time.
