Has he continued down a road of racism and hated? Has be been discovered in a KKK outfit or blackface or continued down a path of hating people of color?
I think the problem here is that you feel that racism must be overt and extreme, but if it is just occasional or kept under control that it doesn't exist?
We don't know if he has continued down that path. We have no idea. What we do know is that when stressed, he went to clear racism. And that when not stressed in that way, he's controlled it since like he controlled it before. At least to the extent of not getting caught.
What your KKK or blackface bit has to do with the discussion, again, none of us know.
The governor who refuses to resign and is clearly a racist. Has no reported instance of something awful in his life going on to even offer a means of an excuse to condone the behavior.
I agree that he's certainly a racist, there is little doubt there. But to think that it is rational or that he has no "excuse" is a bit crazy. We have no reason to assume those things. Obviously he is irrational. And maybe there was stress.
But NO amount of stress EVER excuses racism. Ever. Period. None.

Not at all. I think the guy was pissed that a family member being raped by a reported black person and that he wanted to vent his frustration in an irrational method.
Much like the US did when we went to war over 9-11. Same exact irrational racist bullshit.
Exactly. Racist. You are repeating our points.
You're not even understanding your own point. If you agree with me about 9-11 you must agree that you're a racist.
Wow, how did I become a racist for that?
-
@DustinB3403 said in What Are You Watching Now:
My stance is Liam, at least has a reason to have a hatred for someone of color and worked through that hatred over a long time.
He has reason to hate one man who was black. That's unrelated to hated any other black person. Racism is taking that hatred of one person and extending it to their race. Which he did. Ergo, the problem.

Because by the logic in this very topic, you said you agree that Muslims must be racists because of 9-11 and thus you condoned the war.
It's the same thought process.

- Muslim isn't a race.
- In what way did I agree that Muslims were racist, and against what race?
- How did I condone a war based on racism when I've clearly said racism is wrong. That's what I'm arguing, unlike you, I'm not defending racism.
- The actions of 911 are unrelated to the following war.

You just asked, "how did I become racist for that" yet you've answered the very question.
You should hate just the few terrorist who hijacked the planes and crashed them. Instead you've stated you condoned the war.
That means you hate all Muslims.

Now you're getting into the semantics of the words when you realize you've backed yourself into a corner.
You are aware that people are Racist and hate Muslims. Yes? And granted participating in the Muslim religion doesn't make you a type of person.

Much like participants in ISIS hate all Americans.
Americans aren't a race, but it would still be classified as Racism.

What corner?

As two distinct actions, yes.
And correct, being Muslim tells us nothing about the race, feelings, or type of person a person is.

The corner of you having admitted to condoning a war in a country based on the believe that people who attacked the US were Muslim.
And you're attempting to stick to the most direct application of the definition of racism as being "by skin color only" when racism is equally applied to "hating anyone of a particular group, faction, skin, religion or other identifier".
-
Let's try this another way...
You think I'm a racist. To be a racist you must hate some group. what group of people do you think I am racist against (or towards, could be inclusive or exclusive.)

You agree that the war after 911 was acceptable, yet that was was specifically and blatantly targeting Muslims.
Hence you must be racist because you've agreed that the war is A-OKAY in your book.

By strict you mean "only", in this case.
I'm using racism in the only valid way, meaning race. You can't just make up a new definition. That's totally a different thing.
Definition of racism
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2a : a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles
b : a political or social system founded on racism
3 : racial prejudice or discrimination -

I never agreed to that. I said that people who supported it were racists. I've never agreed with any war that the US has engaged in since 1960.

Racism as a sole word would be to hate a specific ethnicity. But it has evolved to include hating any group or culture.
FFS. Is this really difficult to understand?
