Google accounts being signed out
-
Widespread reports of users having issues with their google accounts.
It hit me personally, and is hitting every android phone at one of my clients.
-
Wife was saying something about that last night.
-
I had to sign in to one of my Google accounts again on my iphone for email, in chrome on my macbook for sync, and in chrome on my desktop for sync.
-
I did not think to screen shot it at the time, but on my desktop it said I had to sign in because of a change to my account.
I made no changes, and I reviewed my activity log on Google.
-
I noticed that I was signed out, too. But just logged back in and didn't think anything of it. This was a few hours ago.
-
For my client, all of their Android phone has an account created when the phone was setup with a scheme of [email protected]
and then a password based on a scheme that we know.
unfortunately the tech in the field do not know this password and they never should have to know it. It is only used to setup the backup of the phones.

This is going to be a huge pain in the ass for us.

This impacted me last night as my Google WiFi was factory reset by this issue. Something in Google's authentication backend cause this issue. They referenced it once in the Google WiFi forums but reference to the authentication issue was removed. See screenshot. For me I have to setup my wireless network all over again at my house.
-
This is starting to make me more and more paranoid over Google entirely.
-
I notice I didn't have to sign back into my Google Photos Backup app on my Mac and Windows.
-
I haven't been signed out of anything. Looks like I dodged that bullet.

Did the same.. And was a bit afraid of a hack because my wife's phone wasn't logged out.

I had this issue happen to me on Friday evening, all my Chrome browsers on the machines I use (3 of them) were needing to be signed back in and my phone complained about it as well.
I logged in and notice no major changes in my account, still I went through and enabled 2FA (push notification and Google Authenticator) and then used lastpass to change my password to something VERY complex.
Hopefully this is enough to protect me from whatever the heck is going one.

None of my devices have been effected by this.

Mine either.

I should mention that this affected my personal Google account, no issue with my work Google account (G Suite).

Same for me.

Setup my Google WiFi again and it has been fine. That was the only issue for me. Didn't sign me out of any accounts.

4 different Google accounts have asked me to sign in again on my android device over the past week-end. Still get occasional blips.
