I deploy software on windows via chocolatey.org whenever possible.
The NextCloud client is listed there, but I see no official NextCloud names in the details.

I'd love to see an AetherStore / NextCloud integration. Gotta get AS onto Linux first, but once there is that, having the two work together could be really cool for the SMB market.

And to be honest there is also no point in reinventing the wheel. A lot of great open source mailservers exists. Just install one of them and Nextcloud can use it.
A single appliance solution would be really great. I see the long term goal of this product competing directly against O365.

It's the main software repository system for Windows (think RPM or DEB repo, for Windows.) It used to be a small, private open source project. But Microsoft has started working with them and it is semi-official at this point. It's built on NuGet, which is an official Windows tool from MS themselves.

If I'm using gmail for my email and want to store my files in NextCloud - what's the current solution for that? download the file local, save to NC, open in NC and use LO to edit/view the file? what a huge PITA.

Awww - I didn't realize how the email portion of NC worked. OK sounds like they are very close to competing with O365 already... now we just need local application direct integration (as mentioned above) and we'll be set.

I was wondering when some integration for MAC os like the client will be become available? It seems the current client is coded against an old openSSL library? Same for firefox or safari browser integration on a MAC? It seems like some file preview functions are all giving issues that is not helping the adoption to MAC users? Those same functions like preview etc. seem to work fine on a windows client. but please keep up the good work in coding! the product is awesome in its functionality. -

More work is happening in this area, the upcoming 2.3 client will have a newer openSSL for example. And more is coming

From what I've used, it's quite nice and it is nice that you log into NC and have all of that stuff right there. NC is moving heavily to being the central portal that you would use. That's why I'd like to see things like wiki integration or something similar so that we can use it kind of like a corporate intranet.

We have CardDAV and CalDAV syncing and apps to handle contacts and calendars. So you can share calendars, invite people and all the basic stuff.

Any chance you're working toward an ActiveSync add-in?
I.e. can the email client connect natively with O365 or Exchange for all of that goodness?

So it would be possible to implement ActiveSync relatively easy by including projects like zpush. Maybe someone does it. But i'm not sure how useful it is to use the Nextcloud Mailinterface with the Office365 backend. But maybe I'm missing the usecase here

Exchange has IMAP natively. So it already works with that natively.
