They need to mention video game performance in these lists. 🙂

I've been contemplating switching my laptop back to Linux again. Looks like I now have a reason to do so!

I use it on my Mac. I have issues with installations, but I have a workaround that isn't all that great, but it gets the job done.

Laptop is back on Linux, and all the games that I am playing right now work at least respectably well and without any major bugs so far.

              Do you have AOE2?

It's in my Steam Library, haven't reinstalled it yet. Do I need to try? 🙂

It's amazing how much faster Steam for Windows runs on Linux, ha ha. It's installed. I'll hit the play button at home later. XRDP and X2Go don't particularly care for running graphically demanding apps remotely.

AOE 2 Will actually launch (I broke down and tested it, lol).

Wine configuration guide here seems to be nice at getting it going.

I'm using PlayOnLinux with Wine 2.0 installed for the Steam install. Will play around with it tonight to see if it works.

It plays respectably well over Remote Desktop at least for the Tutorial stuff.

Since @Dashrender privately chastised me for trying to test something a game over RDP, I figured I'd publicly announce that it plays fine when sitting in front of the machine, lol.

A minor issue that I'm starting to notice in Windowed mode is that when you move the mouse to the bottom edge of the screen, it doesn't scroll down. Left, right, and top seem to work.

There's also no easy way to ALT+TAB out of it -- even in windowed mode.
