Holiday Discussion: What Was Your Most Fun or Interesting Career Position

Anyone who has been in IT for a long time will have some stories of working some place that is super fun, wild, crazy, unique or whatever. For a fun holiday exercise, how about we share some stories of places that we have worked that we look back on as fun, happy, an adventure, etc.

I worked at a place where destroying equipment was common place. All destruction of course was bad for the business, but luckily the team never took it so far as to cause the company real issue (specifically financially) to the point where the higher ups took notice.
A bad day might end in a keyboard under the tire of someone's car before being shot across the parking lot..

At some places, this would not surprise me.

Have seen a lot of things so far. Most scary situation:
Many years ago, a few years after 9/11, I had a research project in Ireland about a next-gen regenerative heating system (solar panels, water tanks in the earth, air heat pump, oven with heat recovery cycle and so on). My task was to build the control system (controlling pumps and valves, measuring temperatures etc.) and the remote management part. I think it was short before Christmas.
Anyway. When I tried to head back home from Shannon airport, something very scary happened during check-in: The security lady looked at my baggage, raised her hand and suddenly, two tall officers stood behind me, SMGs raised: "Stop, don't make a single move.", one of the guys whispered. It was exactly like you might think: Like in a bad movie.
A second later, the Lady in front of me said: "Sir, slowly take off your clothes" while putting on latex gloves. I was scared like sh*t and asked: "What the hell... what's wrong?". She slowly took two spare PCBs, which had a battery to power the RTC, and a temperature sensor (with an immersion sleeve) out of my baggage. "Sir, what's that?", she asked. At this point, I was only wearing jeans and t-shirt. I couldn't believe my eyes and started to laugh. One of the officers behind me: "Sir, this isn't funny at all". Yeah, you bet. I explained what they found and offered to give them a demonstration of the device to show them that it's not a bomb trigger. They later explained that the wiring of compound explosives looks a bit like my temperature sensors. At least I was able to get on board of my plane and get home in time. I think I will never forget that scene.

@thwr A friend stopped in while I was working on soldering some tiny components for one project or another, so I had the headband light/magnifier on. I heard him coming down the stairs, and first thing I hear before I can finish up the last soldering bits is "Dude, you look like a bomb maker!" Really glad that didn't happen to me at an airport, eek.
