I was figuring something like mount a camera to a wall.

yes, that would be the best option. Is there an option to do that for $1,000?

Did you look at the TP-Link stuff? Their stuff is cheap, but tends to work. I know a few people like them more than I do 🙂

Pretty much any IP enabled camera would work for this, if you wanted something that blends in with the area you might look at actual security cameras with a good frame rate.

Certainly there are a bunch that fall well within that price.

The issue I see with the TP-Link stuff is that it likely doesn't have a good enough fps or zoom capabilities... but maybe their newer stuff does.

Ignoring the brand, something like this would likely work fine.

FPS I would see as an issue (see what I did there?) But zoom I'm thinking would not matter.

As long as the entire congregation doesn't also connect to the wifi and try to watch it at the same time, ha ha.

As easy as that is, it's slapped together which @Mike-Davis wanted to avoid.

Yeah... probably not a big risk.

I think that the analog conversation came in from the idea of having to connect to a TV using CC cameras.

Which the CCTV solution is still completely do-able, but an ancient way of doing what is asked of.

Streaming is the only current and future forward approach here, even if it is LAN only streaming.

@Mike-Davis Your basic simple solution is an everyday camcorder with HDMI out and an HDMI splitter.

My Sony Handicam from 2005 had HDMI out, and a remote control. so you don't even need to be able to reach the unit most of the time. Just mount it on the wall. Gives you the option to record even if you put a card in it.

It is buried in a box at the moment or I would hook it up and test it to prove the functionality.

Have not looked at this, but what about a GoPro? That has HDMI out and has good audio and is super simple to use.

Another good choice if the HDMI is active as a "monitor" for the the unit.

Any budget in mind? If they don't have a computer that you can use for this purpose I would consider buying something like an Intel Nuc and just doing it through IP's. The cost saved by using a Raspberry Pi is going to increase the labor cost. If you're doing it pro-bono (unsure fi you're a member of the church) then that's really up to you.

Over complicated. The point is to have nothing but the hardware.
