Initial impressions of bareos

They do have a repository setup for most popular distributions. Installing from the CentOS repo now. Initial look at the documentation is that it doesn't look nice, but everything seems to be included. I'll see how easily this file level backup software is to use.

Does Bareos have any support for things like Exchange, SQL Server or other applications?

Looks like just vmware from the package list alone. I have a hard time believing it can't backup it's own configuration in Mariadb or Postgres tho.

VMware isn't one of those kinds of things
But I did see that they were working on a VMware plugin. -

But I did see that they were working on a VMware plugin.Yep, but it's the only thing I noticed in the package list. Just sat back down to look at actual use now that it's installed.

From what I read, it can backup its self.

I've got it installed, and backing itself up, but the first client system is throwing errors on me. Firewall ports are open and services running according to the guide here. It'll be this afternoon before I can get around to looking at the error logs.
