Yes, for a "farm" it is totally useless. But for a home garden this is so perfect. It's the right size for a home garden and it handles mixed plants as easily as doing all the same one so perfect for the variety that single families need. The automation of large scale farms is pretty crazy. I was surprised when my wife brought me to a huge dairy how much automation is actually involved in milking cows.

Yup, dairies are pretty much 100% computer driven. Hardly any manual labour.
I'm hoping that the trend continues down the market as well. There are some smaller dairies that could benefit from this technology.

Yeah even at $1k it would be difficult to recoup the investment in a few years here in the United States. However, I think $1k is a price a hobbyist could afford. That would be about my budget on something like this.

If the hobbyist had access to 3D printing, what would the costs fall to? The designs are out there to be printed.
