These are pretty sweet. Thinking about getting one.
I'd like to hear some real world experiences with one before I go and grab one. One of the considerations I have is the
Uni-Tasker
mindset. It replaces a notebook/pad/sticky note, but what else can it do really? Is this feature set available via an iOS or Android product stream? If you spend for the 'better' accessories - are you not in the realm of an iPad Pro?Of course - the screen visibility and battery life has a number of benefits.
While it acts like just a paper/pen situation, based on how well scanning works, the Phone app seems to play a big part for uploading/organizing the pages.
Maybe @travisdh1 can give us some of the pros and cons of the app.
Will check more on it later tonight. It seems the value depends on its reuse longevity.
This should be 'it's' own thread... definitely interested/ing.

Experimenting with DragonOS - It's running on an old laptop in the other room and I'm listening to it via SDR# on my desktop.. Seems pretty stable.

Looking of the new site floor plan - not sure how I feel about how it's laid...
Core IT next to the bathroom and water fountains... The GAS Tanks are not 'fuel', it's medical GAS for Dental services....

At least they're not putting the server(s) inside the bathroom!
Hopefully they have good soundproofing.

Does anyone know of a good, open source FLAC converter? I have some CDs to rip and compress for my phone.

FLAC converter

@dbeato thanks, I'm about to check it out.

Tinkering a bit more with DragonOS and the SDR.
This - is shinySDR which will run in a browser... The other one I was working with would allow SDR# to connect and seemed to have more responsive controls.

Test laptop going through the "normal" upgrade process.

@jaredbusch My condolences.

I've got a laptop on Windows 11. Haven't used it much, it's not Ubuntu or MacOS, but it's not bad.

It upgraded just fine. Which was the point of the test.

Oh, I did a couple updates today. Haven't checked back on them yet.

Just noticed the "meet now" icon in the system tray.
Turns out it can't be removed, only hidden.Well, so say the 10 second DDG search... the search continues.
Seems like malware...
-
So there's a registry DWORD that can disable the icon
Checked another account and it's greyed out but 'on', but the system tray icon is gone...
Looks like it's a 'Feature' that there's no genuine control over.Looks like it's just a shortcut in the system tray to a website but that's irrelevant.
IM I should, at minimum, be able to remove all non-core features like MeetNow, XBOX, Your Phone, etc -

Upgrading my desktop to Fedora 35.
Did a new install on my laptop, but I have too much crap going on with my desktop to do that yet. I would say still 25% from being “stateless” on my desktop.

Because he's pointing out the obvious truth?

My gnome shell extensions do not work
I used three, but two were important to my workflow.
Tray icons: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/2890/tray-icons-reloaded/
BaBar TaskBar: https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4000/babar/Flameshot also does not work
