pre stressing about the incoming rain.
basement leaks when there's heavy rain and I've done almost everything I can think of to stop it from coming in .
Hoping that all the work i've done since tuesday pays off. .Best get that basement pumps handy.
dont have one of those yet.
lolNo sump pump? That's not good.
No Sub Pump.. not yet..
Is there a basin at least?
a what meow?
A hole in the basement floor that is setup as the low spot so that water drains to it, rather than just flooding the entire basement.

no, dont have that either.

no, dont have that either.
Then you're going to have a difficult time keeping anything dry in that basement.... Sorry.
A sump pump will work to drain water that gets to it, but if the water is coming in from all corners and not being directed to a single point (a basin) then you'll likely have issues forever.

I've eliminated low points around the foundation and built them back up to drain away from the house. and moved the downspouts a little higher off the ground to allow more drop to the run off.
All things that I hope will keep water out.. -

All things that I hope will keep water out..That's a good start, but if you've got a basement, you need a sump pump. If the ground against the foundation is wet, you will have water seeping into the basement. Which is why every house in Ohio has a basin and sump pump. I've changed more pumps than I want to think about.

The house I grew up in had a collapsed line which caused our basement to flood. It was a walk UP basement - which didn't help.
Last two houses I have lived in were walk OUT - so it 'isn't' a problem. That said, when the hotwater tank splits... it's a problem, walk UP or walk OUT.
If you need a sump and sump pump, best to also have a battery backup for it. that way when the power fails in a storm, you still have some protection. Suggest dual circuit, UPS and generator....

I went a head and changed the gutter run off into corrugated drain pipe coming from the house. hoping that helps a little too.

lolOof. Hopefully you're not going to get too much rain. You're not in the path of what's left of Ida, are you?
Ida is pretty much not in the US anymore.

Make sure to implement it right. We've had a number of MFA issues (IMO) Enhanced Security is one thing, but so much that you can't do your job as it blocks you for signing in - ugh

MiTel, charging crazy prices for phone lines you don't need! Seriously, their pricing model makes them a joke at best.

Well - It's MiTel now... Likely Cisco in the future.

At least Cisco has features above and beyond most phone systems that can justify the price if needed, at least according to what @JaredBusch has said in the past.
