it's hit the fan down here, state is pretty much shutting down as of Tuesday.
They need to give people time to prepare?
Some of our borders are a long way from major towns that have enough supplies to handle stranded travellers.
Getting to the border and being stuck for 2 weeks is not good, particularly if there are other health conditions at play. -
Just started my first day of working from home, should of got a bigger desk as the monitor is a bit close to the face

Impressive multi-tasking there

People have had weeks to prepare. No one outside of the most remote villages with no power, phones, or Internet is being caught by surprise.
Sure, that doesn't mean they actually did anything to prepare

Why are you asking that?
because they aren't closed Monday (today) - if not to prepare, why be open monday at all?

Just fueled up, gas is 15% below the all time historic low. Cheapest fuel, adjusted for inflation, in history.

But they've been given time to prepare. Giving them more changes nothing. They might not prepare now that they've had an unnecessary superfluous warning.

Looking at Conceal Carried Permit courses with the Tax refund sitting in my bank account... Not a good idea, but also, a great idea.

If money is burning a hole in your pocket, consider that there hasn't been such a good time to invest in your lifetime, and there is unlikely to be another that comes close.

Not burning a hole in my pocket par say, I've been waiting for the right time to get into one of these courses for years, just never made it a priority. thinking its time for it to be a priority. and these courses are pretty cheap.

Can't. I have my beer in one hand and my chips (crisps) in the other.

Actually, the frustrating thing is that my workload has gone the opposite direction. I am completely slammed and ended up working some ridiculous hours last week.

Can't I have your beer in one hand and Scott's chips in the other?

nope, absolutely not the time for that... either you should be buying ammo, or you should invest it. Ammo because you already have a gun and think there's a real chance you'll need the ammo, or invest because you think things will right themselves and you'll be way ahead in the market because of good time to buy.
