I'm looking at switching to Huawei when I update my current phone. Bixby is pissing me off enough that I'm totally looking to move on from Samsung. But it is still better than my iPhone was, so I just want to "tune" things a little more. Reviews seem to consistently say that the Huawei P30 beats the Galaxy S10 at a much lower price (like 10-18% less). So I'm pretty excited to check that out. The Huawei Watch is like half the cost of the Galaxy watch, too!
Press and hold a blank space on your home page to manage your wallpaper page settings. Scroll left.... Bixby has an on/off switch.
Ah, I see. That was not there before. I didn't have Bixby, then something installed it and it just started being there but I couldn't figure out what was bringing it up. But it looks like if I bump the sabotage button the side that it still tries to launch it. I want it not installed on the phone if possible. How do I fully make sure it has no way to launch?
I have no idea, although I have seen posts on the net to reassign the button to an app of your choice. I've not tried any

Fedora 30 update on my laptop underway.
I ordered an ultrabook a few days ago for my travel laptop. Fedora 30 will be installed whenever I get it.

I'm thinking about a MateBook 13 for my next laptop, but not ready for a new one yet.

MateBook 13
Oh that's nice. This isn't my main work rig, just for travel and "on call" work. So I went with an old refurbished Dell. But that Matebook looks awesome. I just watched a review for it, and it looks awesome.

Yeah, I found it recently because we are always searching for products with good supply chain to our offices and it looks like one of our best bets.

For some of our offices, we can only find Lenovo and Huawei with reliable supply chain. And obviously we are trying not to buy Lenovo is possible. We love both Acer and Asus, and are perfectly happy with Dell and HP, but none of those are available without huge import issues.

Ya that Bixby button makes me hate Samsung. I thought it was no longer a Bixby button on the S10?

I'm on the S9, but my S9 experience is my determination for whether to continue with Samsung or look at another option. Samsung could allow me to disable the Bixby button at any moment if they wanted, so its continued existence is an every day clear as a bell statement from Samsung that they want to make absolutely sure that I consider Huawei for my next phone. It's not about whether it is fixed on the S10, it's about how they view me as a customer.

True, I would not buy a Samsung phone anymore for sure. This S9 was free and my last one was $100...so ya.

Back to my earlier post about NC16 and uploads - I dropped a Win 10 Pro iso into one of the folders and it uploaded successfully. 4.7Gb Not sure what the "limit" is now by default.

I really like mine, but from the reviews, Huawei seems to be way better at a way better price point. No Bixby problems (which aren't huge , but crazy annoying), way, way, way better camera, much lower cost, and not as good of a screen. But I normally turn down the screen resolution anyway, so ... I dont' care. Oh, and better battery and way better charger (40W instead of 15W).

Anyone used a OnePlus phone? I think this would be the first brand I'd look at it if not for my Pixel. Great phones and specs for reasonable prices it seems.

What blows my mind with the Samsung is the amount of money that they must be spending to shove in my face how they must be overpriced and underperforming.. making me think about how I should be looking at something more competitive. Bixby isn't cheap, and putting in negative value hardware that has no reason to be there just to cripple the phone a tiny bit means that they are just throwing money around and mocking me with how much I overpaid for the device. Um, of course, I'm going to wonder if there isn't something else that I should be looking into. And once I checked the reviews, the P30 seems to be the clear choice.
