What Are You Doing Right Now
-
Yeah, I tend to get busy and not have very much time for the official sessions.
-
Networking seems to have a much higher value than attending sessions, and a great time to really develop relationships with vendors.

The vendor time is a huge deal. If you talk to them during sessions you get time to actually talk not just walk by and smile.

I think this is what I missed the last I went down. Really need to amp up the networking effort.

It's a social media conference more than anything. It is ALL about the networking.

Planning to take my old 4k/6k video editing machine (the HP z820) with 192GB ram and 24 Cores and make a mean Hyper-V system out of it for home use. Then test Unitrends.
-
Nice. My home desktop is still a triple core, 6GB machine.
-
Hoping that that will change in a year, but with the way that things are currently it is not very likely.

My desktop would become my old server which is an Optiplex 760 with 8GB Ram. and a Core2Duo. Not much of a machine but, now that I'm not editing Red files, or really anything at all I don't need much of a computer.

My CPU would probably keep up at least.

And now, you need a SAN to archive E-mail http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/945485-store-access-and-report-on-massive-amounts-of-email?page=2#entry-4610310

@thecreativeone91 I stopped browsing through most of the SW forums a while ago. Lost a lot of interest in it.

I can't figure out if people are that dumb or if they are posting for vendors.
-
@thecreativeone91 some of them scare the living shit out of me with the stuff they post about.
Will this power supply run my server? (insert picture of wall-adapter) It says it's 12 volts!
-
@MattSpeller Are you kidding? You can run your whole house off of that!

Dang. I'm getting ripped off with my 200A 240V split phase service.
