Nope, not that old. Punk was mainstream in the late 70s. Since the 80s, very mainstream.

That was my point... Punk was punk in the 70s... once it's "mainstream", it's not really punk anymore.

That was my point... Punk was punk in the 70s... once it's "mainstream", it's not really punk anymore.
Now it is way more like pop.
I think "Bring It On" really helped move punk from "generally mainstream" to "bubblegum pop" range.
