Watching my favorite computer video. It's all text based, and its from the creators of Windows. Currently, I'm on the episode:

        "Downloading updates...
        Installing update.....
        "

For the last freggin 30 minutes.

        omg.

Hey I've seen that episode recently too!

Edit: I do occasionally receive commercial breaks in my episode though (Unable to connect to your service provider)

oh - the commercial breaks are the worst... a totally black screen.... or some logo - and from time to time, they are so many back to back - I've dozed off and missed what happens.... and there is no rewind. You have to wait for that episode to come back again... which you never know when will be....

Have either of you caught the feature length film recently?

Feature length film? With my system,... I have a continuing Mini-Series...

@jaredbusch That is what i am looking at. THink i going to replace the wifi here as part of this project; get the cameras on wifi. The current system isnt ip based, so eth cables would need to be run throughout this 100 year old building which is a nightmare unless i go wireless.

Never looked at their WiFi options. only the wired PoE stuff.

I don't think they have WiFi options any longer. Those are what I have at home and they've been discontinued.

Agree - Security items should never be wireless or 'remote powered' PoE on a good UPS, and in a power outage you are still recording...

EDIT: Remotely powered being basically within 20' of the camera.

A PoE switch on UPS is what I would think you would want. I think I got to thinking faster than I was typing.. and missed a chunk of explanation.....

Trying to figure out if the CEO's iPhone is the device sending out multiple (100s of) meeting acceptance messages. Is there a way to see which device or what type of device is sending an email message in Office 365?

He and the person sending the message had outdated iOS versions and have since updated. Maybe I just have to have him cancel/delete the event and try again?

Uh, you're more likely to have the switches serving the PoE be on backup power than random plugs in the wall the cameras are plugged into?

@stacksofplates I guess it depends on if they are using POE switches instead of individual injectors.

Well he said "remote powered", I'm assuming that's what he meant. Because if you're making an argument about security, what's stopping someone from just unplugging the injector?

I don't think wireless is bad for cameras.

And I was wrong. They brought them back. I was hoping they would in case one of ours died.

@stacksofplates true. you could also just cut the cat 5/6 cables.

Right. It's security against low end criminals and insurance cases.

I would think Wireless means you have a number of injectors. so... if the power is out, no camera. Or if you have 20 wireless cameras - you might have 20 UPS units to manage then... so PoE would be better..
