Giving VS Code a spin rather than using Powershell ISE this morning.
I hate ISE, I won't touch it. So cumbersome.
As a novice in PS, I like ISE lol.
Check out VSCode. It's pretty cool, and you can get real debugging tools instead of having to program in a lot of write-host / read-host lines, lol.

nothing like being on the phone with a support team, from a support team, for a client site, having the other support team waste your time./
Is it Friday yet? -

I don't mine ISE. Until today's experiment, that's primarily what I use.

Working on my home lab again after a long break! Testing Microsoft Admin Center, interesting to see all management capability on a web interface including hyper-v management. Setup new VM on Hyper-v using that and installing CentOS (for graylog)
-
Waiting on two bosses and a lead of another team to answer the question of "who should have administrator access to $hostname ?"
-
winter solstice today, sun up at 7:55am, 1 degree outside. beautiful morning just darn cold.
-
Helped a student out with one of their TestOut LabSim exercises.

Trying to install OnlyOffice, and having a terrible time getting the rabbitmq-server dependency running on the recommended CentOS7 platform
-
reducing the will to kill, post phone call.
No one can print anywhere, it's urgent, i've asked and I'm sure. Can you come today?
contacted more rational staff members and checked printers.
1 printer down because the legends who installed the new photocopier unplugged the network printer and plugged it into the new copier.
2 people were unable to print. -

And seconds after I post that, I figure out that it's all because the ip address and hostname are missing from /etc/hosts. Ge, would be amazing to have the error logs actually tell you that.

-
@siringo - That always happens.
Everyone is having this problem!
After troubleshooting what is all but obviously an isolated problem you ask, "Whom else is experiencing this?".
Muffled talking.
Oh, it's just me, I guess.
Now I just ask that at the beginning.

Of the various dumb things end-users can do, I think this one boils my blood the most. "Help! Help! but not right now."

Yep, I agree.
It was an awkward call, it was from a person who I am possibly answerable to so I had to tread lightly.
I hour until Friday knock off. I wasn't going to have a drink tonight, but ..... -
Netflix, wine, bed.
