Downloading some of SAM's YouTube vids to watch on the train and while waiting for it. (Charged my phone in prep)
Download em will you can, as you might never get to download anything faster than at dial up speeds.

Staying at home today.

Having to make the case to [insert superior here] not to allow a dev's home computer one-time access to our VPN.

Why do they need access from their home computer?

@jaredbusch I am being force to go watch it tonight, stepson's birthday. I find Star Wars to be very simple Sci-Fi/Fantasy that has always relied on special effects to compensate for a very basic storyline, at least please tell me there is no JarJar in this one? LLAP.

Long, convoluted story. I gave some options which include computers that particular home which are company-owned and would have VPN access.

Who else will be watching the Geminid meteor shower tonight?
The smog in Utah might make it difficult to see the shower.
Utah has a lot of smog?
Salt Lake City definitely does! The inversion damn near killed me.
It's been years since I've been to Salt Lake City. I spent about a week there playing in competitions with my saxophone quartet when I was in undergrad. I loved the city. I didn't want to go home.
Wow... try going to Toronto. Better city, maybe more expensive, but not a mormon in sight.
What did the LDS do to you?
They don't believe / agree with what he does, and he doesn't agree with or believe what they do. So therefore, he doesn't like them and thinks they are bad, I assume.
Way to make assumptions....
Organized religion is bad, and when one takes over an entire city, that's even worse. You can believe whatever the hell you want, but that doesn't make organized religion any less awful.

I've been to SLC, and it was great, and the people were great. I'd have no issues living there if I had to, though it's not my first choice due to geographical and non-religious preferences. I'm really struggling here to understand what the problem is.

LOL - how many days is this going to continue?
I'm completely against organized religion also, even worse is state sponsored religion...

Yeah I don't agree with state sponsored religion either. Nobody should be forced into believing something.
But that's not the issue here, or in SLC.
If someone is showing hate or dislike towards a group of people they don't even know, I assume it's for a real and good reason, so I was curious and asked about it. That's all.
So far his reasons for disliking SLC are:
- There are Mormons there.
- Mormons practice an organized religion
Those reasons don't make any sense to me, and just seems like such juvenile thinking, especially when it's shown that 76.6% of the entire US population identifies themselves as one of an organized religion.
There is a reason that the First Amendment is first. It seems like Rojoloco wants to be in control of who the 10 amendments apply to and who they don't apply to.

- The mormons are a cult disguised as a religion
- Again, your assumptions about me are grossly incorrect. I believe in freedom for all, but that includes the freedom to be free from the rule of organized religion, which is what we've had here since the beginning.
Not sure why you think I want to be "in control" of the bill of rights... I just want to live to see the day when religion is toppled by logic.. You keep believing in your religion, and I'll continue believing religion is a problem in this country. You are welcome to stop making incorrect assumptions about me and trying to put words in my mouth.

Company holiday party and gift swap is happening in a few hours. Someone will possess an Annoy-A-Tron before the end of today.

@coliver depends on if my gift is selected. It’s a theme of “Good vs Evil”. They get a Groot mug and an annoy-a-tron

We had our Christmas party yesterday. We had catering and did games like the left/right game with the gifts and of course the ugly christmas sweater contest.

Just powered up my new computer.
Letting windows activate on it before I install Fedora 27.
