Yeah, I did to start with but then came to realize that the online form never asked if I had moved so I had to go in and fix the address that it was being sent to...

Having to delay a meeting because our conference room computer never did it's restart for Windows updates, which I discovered upon restarting it for a different issue.

The joys of OS issues.
Linux has it's quirks, but it's generally not unexpectedly taking lots of time to install updates randomly when rebooting.

You don't even have to reboot if you're using something like KSplice.

Yeah, and KSplice is becoming more of a standard thing to have all the time!

Only install on random reboots because hte person in charge did not set i tup properly to apply updates and reboot on a controlled schedule.
Almost all of my client's have the machines setup to reboot Monday mornings at 4am.

Nice. Sorry we aren't around.

This is one of the many hidden costs of Windows. How much money is lost from a single meeting with people standing around waiting on forced reboots!

This is where automating it really matters. Get those reboots done in some off hours time slot proactively. Waiting on updates almost always causes one problem or another.

Don't HAVE to reboot, but it doesn't change that you should. KSplice is almost a bad thing because of that.
