I'm home early. Worked all morning, came home early. Got a sub and some frozen custard on the way home. Had to work a little once home and now attempting to complete Shadowrun Returns: Dead Man's Switch

Frozen custard? Isn't that, like, ice cream?

Not exactly. It is similar but also has eggs in it.

So does ice-cream?
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/jun/17/how-to-make-ice-creamThey are misusing the term. In the US, ice cream means it is egg free and has certain ratios of ingredients. Ice milk, gelato, ice cream, frozen custard.... they are all unique and have fairly strict definitions. Many people use the terms loosely, but they are not loose terms.

OK, I've looked it up in "Larousse Gastronomique", the definitive bible of food. Ice-cream was invented by the French cook of Charles I in the 1650s and contained eggs. So I'm claiming it as English and egg based You Americans can bastardise it all you like

Happy Weekend.. Finally its weekend for me pretty soon

Rebooting myself now

At the library, waiting for Toastmasters to start showing up for the 2PM meeting (it's 1:07 as I'm writing this). I like being here early and wanted to be here as people showed up, not after they were here. Just feel more comfortable with it the former way over the latter.

As far as my LAMP server goes, I decided to stick with Ubuntu. I have found more how-tos for my questions, I'm already far more familiar with it, and it will work fine for what I need it to. I now need to figure out Wordpress...lol

I'm surprised how many people go by volume of how tos or size of community rather than by quality of either. I'd count the volume of how tos and community of Ubuntu against it. You always hear of people needing to put together tons of how tos on Ubuntu to get things working but generally on CentOS the first one "Just works." Normally from someplace like HowToForge. Blending how tos just makes things much harder.
Why did you need a how to? With CentOS you just...
yum -y install httpd php mysql; setenforce permissive and you are done. There is no need for how tos. That's like a how to on how to install Notepadd++..... just click on the icon.

We keep the windows open unless the temps get into the 90's simply because we don't like paying the power bill. I much prefer cooler temps, but a house built in 1900 is not all that insulated. I love the house, but things in my life just did not work out as I hoped when I first bought it. I could do things now to make it better, but it would not be enough to make the house good for a family of 4. So I'm just trying to sell it without loosing money. somehow that seems impossible.
