Why is the Internet on a watertower?
Not a water tower in this case.. Most of those are around 200'
Because I live in an area where only 1Mbps DSL is available so we have Wireless ISPs (WISPs)
Not everybody is privileged to have 1 Gbps Internet connections.

I have fiber to my house, but I'm only subscribed at 40MB. That's $49/mo, but I could upgrade to 1GB at $129/mo. I don't see the value there.
-
We up'd last week from 70 to 80 for $10 more per month to get out from under the 350 GB/month data cap. We now have unlimited data.

Ugh... I pay 70$/month for 50/5.
-
I have 30 MB with Timewarner -_-. It gets the job done I guess.

I'm paying $68/mo for 25/5. 50/5 would be around $100/mo.
-
I am $85/m for 30/5 right now, given what it is and where it is not bad. Frontier was charging me $75/m for the 1Mbps DSL

My parents are paying 50$ for 3/.5 DSL... so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Spectrum? I called and since they have new plans... the standard plan is 60down now.

You don't paint a rosy picture of Minnesota.

What? really.... TW was bought by Spectrum... or are they still in transition there.

They are "transitioning" but you can make the switch here now (recent change, last few weeks). I just haven't gotten around to it.

Grandfathered accounts are still being billed by Time Warner. They offered us a 10$/month credit to our account for 12 months if we switched to Spectrum.

Locally they all keep the same names. And TW turned into Spectrum, it wasn't bought by them. Charter bought TW. The resulting company renamed itself Spectrum. They still sell as TW and Charter.

Guess I need to call my account manager.

@thanksajdotcom works for Spectrum in a Time Warner region but his email is at Charter.
