So one of devs found thousands of failed login attempts on a test server... Turns out the boss, while at a customer site, had VPN troubles so he made a firewall rule opening port 1433 to the outside. SMDH.

In all fairness, they were on-site doing a demo, so dicking around with network connectivity in front of customers was not the thing to do. But all they had to do was disable that firewall rule when they got done.
