What Are You Doing Right Now

Have you ever been sitting next to an ignorant arsehole who is trying to justify his own bigotry and racism by spewing out ignorant, racist, ridiculous, bigoted words, so much so that you wanted to choke the life out of their worthless body? That's what I did for lunch today. I even resisted physical violence... I even resisted the urge to tell him what a pile of shit he was. But if I knew what he was driving, he might have 4 flat tires when he finished lunch.
You must be in upstate NY.

Whoa. You had lunch next to the President-elect? I applaud your restraint.
Edit: to be clear, I'm only happy that you would restrain yourself in this situation for no other reason than it would be a shame for you to go to jail.
Well, the president-elect's balls were very clearly on this guy's chin.... and my restraint is a sign that I must be getting old. 25 year old me would have started some shit.

Just bought a pack of high power infrared diodes (Osram SFH 4556P) and hacked a few webcams (removed the IR filter and added a filter for visible light made from an old 3.5" floppy disk).
Great and cheap head-tracking setup.

@thwr external tracking? from beacons etc in the room?

No, the cam tracks the IR diodes which are attached to the headset. I like this method the most, because it works almost independent from environmental lighting.

OpenTrack. FreeTrack is causing issues with ArmA 3

That's exactly what I want to build a setup like this for. Arma3 and FalconBMS.

Get the ones I mentioned before. They are flat out the best you can get (SFH 4556P, P is the wide angle version)

Cleaning my server room, jamming to some oldies.

Happy Tuesday. Lots to do today. Lots of posting today everywhere! Then a meeting in Fort Worth at 1:30 this afternoon.

Still in Texas? I thought you were back in NY again!
I can't keep track of anybody these days!

I got to have the immense joy of replacing a rotten and moldy section of roof yesterday. That was fun. I love doing physical labor in short spurts. What we expected to be a simple job turned out to be far from it -- as is the case with most things.

Looking for two LED TV's and maybe some RasPi for display wall to show MPLS connection status and Zabbix graphs. (maybe more things as I add like SQL monitoring etc)

Yeah, no replacing just a small section of roof most of the time.

Yea. We caught the mold before it made its way into the house, so, we'll see. First rain on it is expected this week.
