the graphic is downright confusing. Somehow your normal network gets directly to the internet, but your SIP has to go to an ISP.. lol

Right, I get if the phone system is bypassing the firewall and headed out to the internet. they didn't want to deal with configuring any firewall rules etc.

But to drop another ISP icon there.....

I think they are suggesting that only ISPs are able to trunk to the PSTN... which is blatantly false and often (always?) the exact opposite of what you want to do.

This I don't understand. SIP Trunks are pretty easy to configure for the firewall.

yeah, I'm not really involved in this office at all (or any business decisions) my boss is. So I honestly have no clue could care less what the actual documentation is saying. Because if I am not involved in the decisions, then I won't fix their mistakes.

Just a bunch of IP address for the voip phones.

On an side note, this is the same place that setup a brand new physical install server in a remote office without any out of band management on the hardware. Running Server 2012 R2

              So double negative there..

Getting the price down now. Still over $1CDN/battery 😞

Got it down to $0.30CDN/battery but they're coming from big rock candy mountain (Shenzhen) direct. Have to negotiate for cheap air shipping or it's 55+ business days by boat lol

These vendors are playing on fears - real or imagined.

So someone from the IT staff at the hospital emailed me. I replied. Then I got an email back saying that they are using ChoiceMail One and mymessage is being held because it wasn't on their list of addresses......

So I had to go into this portal and type my name and the reason for the email and then fill out a captcha. And now it has to be manually approved. Seriously?

Simple answer, don't respond and if anyone asks say that they refused your email.

Next you'll need to print out the form, and mail it to them along with a copy of the e-mail.

Exactly. You responded. They refused. Not your issue at that point.

And they sent to you, so that you were not in their list is REALLY not your problem. If I got that I would assume that the message from THEM was SPAM and that this was a phishing attack.

Ya how is the recipient not in their list? But tbis is par for the course with them. Luckily I'm not helping that dr any longer so I don't have to deal with them.

Yeah, I would just call their IT and report it as a phishing attack and tell them to email you when it's been resolved.

Or leave a message on the phone for like the receptionist or one of the doctors saying that you have reason to believe that their email has been compromised and that as a known recipient getting attacked from their system that you need to move to another contact media because this one can't be trusted.
