I know! Next year I'll either take time off for it or see if work will cover it.

Trying to get everything in order for my drive to Rochester tonight... it's only 3.5 hours but so much to do before hand.
What's up in Rochester?
VMWare UserCON. Trying to get a better handle on what NSX is and how it can be used.
It's software defined networking, like OpenDaylight.
http://www.vmware.com/products/nsx.html
It's so you can virtualize your network equipment like switches and routers directly on the hypervisor. Nothing too exciting.

I figured that part out... but they are marketing like it is the third coming or something. They are marketing it as this revolutionary datacenter management application. So I want to go sit through their spiel and usage demos to see if it would be useful.

Rarely good to learn about that stuff from the vendors themselves. The spiel is always misleading.
Like when Cisco mocked us for only having 10Gb/s to the desktop and said we were all fools and that even YouTube wouldn't run over such a slow connection in the near future.

Not disputing that. This would be the closest I can get to it at this point though as I don't have the hardware to test it on. Plus Veeam will be there!
-
Waiting for Veeam support to call me yet again. Full backups aren't being deleted on a couple jobs and yes, they're configured properly.

Again? Are you having regular issues?
-
@StrongBad I feel like talking to support over 3 times in the past year for them to fix mostly SQL db issues with their solution is a little much...

Sending a MangoLassi thread to a friend via iMessage and this happened (sorry for the size - iPhone fail):
