We actually tried using Fedora when we changed over to Linux here at first, but keeping up with the twice a year distribution upgrades got to be a pain. Just couldn't keep up with the distro upgrades, compared to running an ssh script that does the updates automatically.

What did you end up using? CentOS?

Not really sure what I'm doing right now, but I'm here... For a little while at least

Mint for the desktops. Always used CentOS for the services.

I looked but didnt see something that was designed for IT work really. Do you have an example link?
-
@wirestyle22 oh no, I don't have any examples, but what do you really need on it, a screw driver and a knife right?

I don't have one but I have heard a lot of good things about Leatherman.

I have this SOG multi tool. It has been a great, well made, dependable tool. But I haven't used it for any IT stuff really.
-
You just just use a tool box full of stuff I guess like me. I wanted something useful for IT work specifically that I can just grab and run with for side jobs. Maybe it doesn't exist
-
This actually looks pretty good. Punchdown and everything.
-
I just carry a small kit with all I need. Gave up with the one tool for everything. It might do everything but does nothing well.
-
@Minion-Queen That's true. I have a toolkit but I wanted something I can keep in my car for weird IT emergencies. Happens more commonly than it should ^_^
-
Yup I have one in my backpack all small versions of things but totally worth having individual tools.
-
My issue with multitools has always been breaking my knuckles trying to use the tools.
For example the punch down tool on that Paladin tools unit, I could see you applying pressure, and it folding under the pressure so you cut your hands up on the block.

@DustinB3403 I have lbd hands
