Trying to figure out how much danger we are in with my wife, taking a "suggestion" from someone at WalMart, of dusting our carpets with almost two canisters of Sevin 5 dust to combat fleas. Came home late from work last night (windows updates night) and she had it all over the living room and hallway carpets...covering my face, I ran the vac over it twice and today, need to dust and clean surfaces...windows are open today...fans going...
Google searches turn up articles from major scaremongering information on this stuff to others saying it is OK to just be careful. Didn't know if I should call a home cleaning expert or not...
We slept through the night OK...
-
It's sleeping through the day and forever that is the concern!
-
But no more fleas, I guess?

Sevin dust works great! It is safe to use on your pets as well. (not rubbing it in their face or anything). We use it from time to time in our carpet and on our dog...

Honestly yes...and cats were OK today too...not really sure who to call to help clean it up...just to make sure it is all gone.
-
@garak0410 Well, as long as you don't wake up one day only to find out your cat turned into an Egyptian bald cat...

Man, what an arrogant prick:
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1616648-starting-with-linux-from-scratch
Guy is a super junior helpdesk guy (@tonyshowoff and I know this guy in person) and he doesn't know anything about Linux or UNIX and has convinced his company that for a super simple little application project that should take a few weeks of effort and zero proprietary stuff requires him to make his own OS and get Linux certified as UNIX... which even Red Hat, Suse and Ubuntu have not done. And when anyone points out that this is crazy, he calls the entire Linux community "arrogant" for stating how hard this is.
This is what we call as Askhole, for sure.
I see your arrogant thread, and raise you one: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1608322-dns-works-but-it-doesn-t.

@Swingblade

DNS resets DNS priority every 15 mintues, as I already stated I verified in the registry of some of the affected machines. Doesn't explain a 5 hour failure. This is applicable to Windows 7 as well.
Is that true? I guess I've never timed it. I force a reboot while at the same time fixing the problem by removing non AD DNS servers from DHCP.

He has documentation, but I have never seen it happen in all the DNS failures I've worked with.

OK, good, I'm not nutz, at least not about this. Neither have I ever, EVER seen it fail back without a network stack reset or reboot, or the secondary DNS failing.

If you went heavy with it, vaccuum the house a few times a week for a week or so.

Obligatory. "That's what she said."?

My father can now see again after having gotten poison ivy in his eye.
