What Are You Doing Right Now

Finally got around to configuring LinPhone on my Linux Mint desktop. Works beautifully with the NTG PBX. Even with the PBX hosted in Chicago and me being on a remote island in the south of Greece the sound quality got a MOS score of 4.7!! Clear as a bell and not needing any special codecs or anything, g.711u worked flawlessly.

I need to try it. I have Zoiper on my desktop and I don't like it at all.

I switched from Zoiper to Linphone long ago. I prefer Linphone and it is native to Linux Mint which is great.

Oh, you just had to bring this up and trigger a trucker story, didn't you?
So between 2004-2008 I was driving truck locally in NE Ohio here. Every Wednesday I would take one of the 54' trailers over to a printing company in Medina, and pickup a FULL load of nothing but those advertising packages that show up in people's mailboxes. That particular 54' trailer and truck combination's legal weight limit was ~46,000lb, each flier weighed ~6oz, figure ~400lb for palates/packaging, and we get what? 91,200. Now assuming the normally shady companies I worked for at the time, it was probably closer to 100,000 every Wednesday. Yeah.... I was delivering all the mailbox fliers for the Akron/Canton area. To anyone that lived in the area at the time, you're welcome

Killing time...I have to stay late tonight to disconnect some computers...then be in at 7am tomorrow to punch in and patch 16 cables, crimp the other ends and reconnect all the computers after they've been moved... Does mean I get to finish at 4PM on a Friday though, and I will have help to crimp and reconnect stuff...Don't trust them to punch the cables though

Heading to bed I am sick.... and we have no heat. Good thing I have a heated mattress pad and blanket.

How many times do you guys think I need to headbutt the concrete to successfully forget the events of yesterday and today?
-
On a conference call for SAM-SD support in Nebraska. On a call from Crete through the PBX in Chicago back to NY and on to Wayne, Nebraska.
-
@wirestyle22 that number is directly proportional to the thickness of your skull in nanometers. But at least 10x to get started.

Has it been that bad?

It's been bad but I also have a completely crappy attitude about it today. I had a co-worker demand that I come in. They texted me at 8:15 AM and expected me to be there by 8:30 AM with no notice. Then I get there to prepare her laptop and she's not there. I text her "where are you? I'm here." and she said she borrowed an iPad from the vocational department. I'm like, gee thanks for letting me know I didn't have to come in 30 minutes early unshowered. Totally appreciate it.

Urgh. Yeah. At least you can come and vent on here and not seriously injure the person who is causing to need beer-thirty to come early.

I was also working until 10:00 PM to resolve this file server issue we were having with the Virtual Disk Service so I already felt like I was just here. I'll get over it

Yea. But we all need time away from work especially when there's no real emergency.

You and me both. Fortunately, I'm the low man on the totem pole here, so I don't get the emergency calls at the moment.
