I literally saw a croc in the middle of the street two nights ago in a shanty town up the mountain. Literally in some of the poorest places in the world where people can't afford food, running water, sewers or even four walls (I'm not kidding, people live in three sided structures!!) people hate crocs so much that they will just abandon them in the middle of the mud and manure and leave them there - apparently continuing on barefoot in the manure as that is better than wearing the croc.
