NTG's YOC (York Operations Center) lab rack is beginning to take shape... again.

That picture makes it look short and stumpy. Looks like some fresh drywall too.

Is that a Sun logo on the bottom two?
Sure is. Five Sun server currently.
4 of them are currently racked. 2 Sunfires and 2 Sunblades.
All Sunfires. We have five Sunfires. Sunblade is a desktop model. We have one of those but it isn't racked.

That's because it is short and stumpy. If I'm not mistaken that's either a three quarter height or the half height that was at Scott's house.

I did just have to get glasses recently, thought I was having some messed up depth perception again.

It's a 1/2 height rack. The drywall is still unfinished, but not "fresh". It's been there over a year now, but it's not in the main part of the house. If build/repair everything, as well as do home remodeling on the side, so if it don't need finishin', it don't get no finishin'.

@PSX_Defector
Yes, -
@art_of_shred Yeah I heard you are sorta like a New Yankee Workshop kind a guy
-
Can't wait for it to be up and running. Then we'll get to flex our muscles (pronouced "Muss kulls" for effect) on some of these projects I've been looking at.
-
@Bill-Kindle
Yeah, kind of. I do own/operate a custom cabinetry business, and my workshop rivals Norm's to a decent extent. He has a few cooler toys than I do, but some of mine a better than his. I can settle for that. -
Looking forward to getting to try some new stuff out in the lab.
-
Also hoping that we'll be able to get some archiving and replication setup on a separate UEB of some sort there. Would be most beneficial.

A lot of storage is going in there. We have a Drobo SAN, IOSafe / Synology NAS and SAM-SD all slated for the first wave of gear. Should be some good option.

Looks like some fun toys. Do we all get to play?

Afraid it is all internal
So you are just teasing us then? Seems fair!

This rack has really been around. Was originally in Texas. Then went to the NY office in 2014. I can't believe that it moved up to NY so long ago, it seems like it was nearly always down here. Now it is back down in Texas again, but not assembled any longer. All that equipment in it is what @DustinB3403 took home a few weeks ago.

They all went up for free a few weeks ago, you missed it.

Seeing lots of old ones while testing out @dbeato's new backup script.

Lol, yeah that's pretty intense.
