If FB offers this, no one must be taking advantage of it. nothing in my FB seems to be targeted to me at all.
Really?
I google something and the next time I am on Facebook it's there.
Creepy.
Amazon frequently does this to me.

I forget that Facebook has ads, I never see them on mobile.
Same here. Only desktop users seem to see them.

Yeah, the ads are all generic and don't seem to be based on me at all.

Okay, I just logged into FB just now to see what it would show and they were pretty targeted. One appears to be based on my location, two were totally wrong and two were obviously targeted.

That is not true. I see them on mobile all the time. They are cleverly shown as recommended pages and suggested posts.

I find Facebook ads to be highly targeted as well! I always see things I'm shopping for pop up on my Facebook feed soon after. I also see tons of ads from other storage vendors, which is always fun and makes me wonder:
Facebook is, in many cases, (not all!), more of a leisure activity. Does that affect how receptive you are to ads for B2B products (ahem, business storage) as opposed to B2C products (i.e. fishing pole or pair of shoes)?

I got a Citrix ad this morning. Pretty targeted.

I'd say yeah people would probably tend to lean more towards personal type products on facebook, but if your targeting is good you can probably find some receptive individuals.
For me the goal of Facebook ads has been to get Likes. Once you get the likes on your page, then you target actual sales. Once you get a facebook like you then have the ability to show on that person's news feed. So instead of advertising to them once you can target them multiple times. It is much easier to set a goal for likes instead of sales.

I'm always the odd man out, but I rarely find personal ads (consumer stuff) to be effective. I find business advertising much more effective.
