The CaseSentry application my company developed that does all the monitoring and case generation for basically everything we do here is built on Ubuntu. They use a MySQL backend. I was thinking of talking to the Dev guys and recommending they check out MariaDB to help improve performance.

MariaDB is just MySQL forked. PostgreSQL is the big MySQL competitor. It's a different product but generally way more powerful.

That would be a message specific to that installer. But my guess is that it is already installed.

Here is the SAR report for the server. Remember we are running at half the cores, half the memory that is recommended - mostly just as an experiment to see how much is really needed for things to be responsive. And so far, ingesting five servers, it is working just fine. We will be adding more servers and keeping an eye on things to see how the performance is and will grow the server if we need to. We are trying to learn from this so that we will have better capacity information. But for a smaller company it looks like a very small server will work just fine. No question that the server is busy, but now that it is up and running and no longer handling the initial setup, it's nowhere near being fully loaded.

Always? No. Before VSS? Yes. VSS is heavily based on Linux LVM. You have long (but not always) been able to take snapshots of the filesystem.

Yes, TeamViewer is a remote GUI viewer. Without a GUI what are you expecting TeamViewer to even do? What would it show, a blank page? Without a GUI there is literally nothing for TeamViewer to attach to and show to you remotely.

Exactly - you should be using SSH to connect to a command line, not TeamViewer.

That's quite a useful feature.
