Under Armor's MyFitnessPal has been compromised in a breach discovered on March 25 exposing 150 million user accounts.

I wonder if it is a state sponsored breach trying to obtain location data for things that are officially not there.

@JaredBusch Including facial recognition, but not really limited to that. @scottalanmiller expressed my thought in a very clear and laconic manner:

      It's used for data harvesting.

Oh wait, that's a Lenovo product. That would explain why there is spyware that can't be removed. That totally mimics everything we know about Lenovo. Honestly, FB is the least of your worries there.

      That’s a bit of a click bait.

The iPhone automatically requires password after two days or after power reset. So it is not an automatic get me in method.

I am not sure about android device settings but I would assume it is similar.

rrent Facebook and Cambridge Analytica situation quite seriously.

I tried deactivating my account and logged in again after deactivation but its logging me in again into the FB How and Why ?Its process of deleting the user id from the Linux box its not even deleting the user it seems

What does the Linux box have connected to Facebook?

Just having a Example if we are deleting any User inside Linux box means the user will be deleted permanently but in Facebook which is not even deleting the user permanently as such

They tell you at the end that if you log back in within 14 days, the account is reactivated. Nothing surprising with that, wait 2 weeks after deactivating and then try.

Good to know, had no idea that they did that.

Yeah. I deleted my FB account before, but discovered I used it to log in to a few other websites. So i had to reactivate it, unfortunately.

Yeah, totally removing it is quite a bit problematic.

Nope, I never use third party login for another site if possible.
if not possible, the only one I use is github then Twitter.

If not available, I won’t sign up.

I do use GitHub whenever possible. I like theirs the best.

I prefer a non linked account whenever possible, but after that, yeah GitHub I like.

That's how I"m doing it now. Linked logins can cause issues down the road.

      Direct signups with different passwords.

Wow, the hits keep coming. I feel sorry for all the people that work for facebook if this gets any worse. I did find it strange that I had to remove Ireland from from our block by region firewall list. Totally shut down Facebook. I wonder if they take advantage of the low tax rate somehow by doing that. Hmmm?

Facebook, like nearly all tech companies, have big offices in Dublin. Dublin is the EU's silicon valley.

Maybe its for the Guinness? 🙂

      Good a reason as any.

Also, Dell apologized and immediately fixed the issue, and didn't do it again. Lenovo never admitted it was a mistake, and did it again immediately afterward but in a more insidious way showing that they were sad they got caught, not that they did it. Dell's action was pretty obviously a mistake - it was sloppy, no effort was made to hide it, they fixed it as soon as they found out. Lenovo's was not a mistake - it was elegant, loads of effort was made to hide it (and to force it back on machines after it was removed), and instead of fixing it when found they worked to make it even harder to remove.

I also don't appreciate SonicWall's backdoor. I've gone through a few instances of over-the-air updates bricking appliances or causing crazy performance issues with constant CPU spiking.

I dislike all back doors. But is SonicWall's open to the public? Or is it at least just a back door for them? Still not good, but an order of magnitude or a few better.

Of course they'll say it's only open to them, but that's what Barracuda says too...

It's often pretty easy to test. At least for something in the degree of Barracuda's, it was WIDE open, no security whatsoever.

Not sure if it was only open to them in case of Sonicwall.
