What does it do when you turn it on? A suggestion I saw once was to lay it flat on something metal, like a fridge, overnight. It can help ground it. Also, clean the contacts with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. I've seen where those start to get dirty or have some corrosion build-up, and that prevents it from connecting properly.
Ok, I resolved this problem by reverting back to 126.96.36.199. As soon as the phone finished booting with the 188.8.131.52 firmware, I heard the CS540 base click active. I pushed the button on the headset to deactivate it and I knew it was going to work before i even picked it up to test.
This does not explain why the EHS previously worked with 184.108.40.206.
After confirming everything working correctly, I upgraded to 220.127.116.11. The headset no longer worked correctly. I downgraded back to 18.104.22.168 and it worked correctly again.
This is a problem with the new firmware for the phone and obviously not a problem with the 22.214.171.124 EHS firmware.
Email sent to yealink support. Hopefully this will be resolved in future firmware.
Might want to correct your title. You got a Savi 720. The Savi 7xx products all have the same features but are different headset styles. I have the 730. Anyways, don't forget to install the Lync Smart Presence software, which is on Plantronics downloads page. Here is the link:
@ajstringham I think I know what I will buy with my new PC in a few months!
Seriously, you can't go wrong with these. These were a giveaway last year at Spiceworld Austin. @Nic has a set too, so he can attest, I'm sure, to their quality as well. They seriously do rock! They had a 3v3 LoL tournament of Spiceheads v. Spiceworks. Spiceheads got destroyed...didn't help that Sean was a very high level and Sarah was actually RANKED! @Nic nor I had ever played, although I'd seen people play a little bit once or twice. In the end, yeah...
