I've used rsnapshot a good bit and it's a really nice tool for simple backups.

I haven't read the article yet,... but would be nice if it is available on Windows -

However, that said. I can just set up a VM and run there.... I don't do a massive amount of managing Linux Servers, but sometimes it would be helpful..

Not even on most Linux yet.

I'm thinking about one of these for the kids' bedroom back in Texas so that we can have a multimedia and multipurpose device that we can hook up to a TV monitor but get more general purpose use out of it than we would with just a Fire Stick or something like that.

@stacksofplates said in Systemd timers instead of cron:

      Now just enable each one
      systemctl enable backup-tower backup-pbx backup.target backup.timer

I'm not sure how this works.
Why wouldn't you just enable the backup.timer? Why add everything else in there?
I'm not clear on how it's all linked.

Yeah you don't. I honestly don't remember why I had it this way. Could have just been an accident. Was quite a while ago.

Put 4G in there and I'd be very interested. 2GB, and I just don't really care. The ancient Android version doesn't thrill me, either. This doesn't seem like they are taking it very seriously.

it makes even more sense in virtualized environments. One can easily add more RAM or disk space if required on VM. No need to dedicate partition for it.
