I having Windows 2008 image in the format of .nrg format and i tried to convert it into .iso format
I have tried to convert the file in WinISO,nrgtoiso, nero, poweriso and AnytoISO.There is no use in using the software for conversion.
Then I google and foung iat in the ubuntu terminal but that also not working.
The conversion is possible with the nrgtoiso and winiso but i try to use the iso in the VMmachine the iso is not booting.

Any other solution to convert the .nrg file to .iso which boots properly

The way i do this requires two tools... One is a Virtual CD application called MagicDisc (http://www.magicdisc.net) -- this lets you mount the NRG imae as a regular CD / DVD drive. This application may try to install other toolbars on your computer, so be careful to watch for that when you are installing it.

The other application that I use is Imgburn(http://www.imgburn.com) -- this one will let you copy an unencrypted CD / DVD into an ISO file....

You would mount the Image with MagicDisc, and then "burn" the MagicDisc Drive to an ISO. I can write up some steps to show you how if you want to give that a go.

I have already tried that no use from it.
The file is converted to .iso but not able to boot when used in the vm machine

Try burning the iso to a dvd and mount it physically. This way you can at least test the ISO and exclude your hypervisor from the mixture.

@Lakshmana I would also test that DVD after you burn it, and make sure your computer will boot from it.

If your computer doesn't boot from the DVD you burn, then something could be wrong with the NRG image.
