What Are You Doing Right Now
-
So my iPhone went into a salt water lagoon today. It was in my pocket and I had no idea it was there nor that I was in so deep. So... yeah, it's dead. I sucked the water out pronto and have it in the rice now. But not much hope for it. So I'm phoneless for a while. I'm in Panama with no access to things like a TMobile or an Apple Store (they don't exist here.) So this is going to be quite a challenge.
-
Eating dinner now.
Spent the morning watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with my 7yo. Then we went to the LEGO Discovery center for the afternoon.
-
Just took the family to dinner for Lebanese. We were able to walk there (important as we have no car.) Dinner was nice.
-
Enjoying the warm sunshine in the backyard.
-
Watching the Theory of Everything....
-
Finally got around to buying my daughter a full copy of Minecraft. She has had it on the iPad for a while. Now she can use it on a laptop.

That is a royal level of suck. I don't know the 'import' laws.. but could one be shipped to you from the states? Not a perfect solution,.. as I am unsure of the post time. Otherwise maybe UPS or Fedex as opposed to using the normal post system.

there is never a way to ship something from the US to another country when you 1) don't have months of time to deal with it and 2) don't have a permanent address with your name on it.
Those two things are always required for reliable delivery internationally.

Those two things are always required for reliable delivery internationally.Having dealt with getting things to and from Japan even WITH fixed addreses, I can wholeheartedly agree with @scottalanmiller on this..
Best thing to do would be to forward look and have something shipped and held at a facility. -
Off topic note: I still f'n hate the quoting functionality of this thing..
I just had to remove the extra line between Scott's sentences so that it would not hide the crap..
This is on top of the fact that it only ever shows the TOP line and thus I had already removed the prior poster's text..
This is 2015, handling quoted text should NOT be an afterthought.
-
No kidding, the quoting remains a completely disaster.
-
Terrible Internet issues this morning. Everything is struggling to load. Websites take forever, HipChat can't load at all.
-
@scottalanmiller This is why I like Google Voice... Even if my phone takes a swim, I can still be reached via calls and text... as long as I have a laptop near by.

I still have that with normal calling. Call my house number (a local Upstate NY number) and it will always reach me. Don't need Google Voice for that feature. I had that before Google Voice was around

The recent OwnCloud update fixed my webdav issues I had with Windows Explorer... except now I can't access the webdav interface via a web browser. The website still works fine though so really no functionality is lost.

I think he has a PBX that is hosted that routes to his computer via SIP or something.
