Anyone tried this software? I installed it tonight and check out my house. The software is pretty basic, but I'm impressed by what it offers.
You can upload a picture of your location, then as you walk around the space you click where you are standing. When you're done, you right click and the system shows you all APs/SSIDs, a rough location of the AP and signal strength around the site.
Awesome for Free.

I have used that one and several others (Names escape me at the oment). I was able to use it to do some medium size floor plans (Libary with 2 floors, and a dorm with 3 floors) without any issues.
-
I stopped by my new location this morning and ran this software. I'll post a picture later after I sanitize it.
-
Absolutely hate this.. Yeah, I have a junk account for but still hate this...

Yup used Ekahau heatmapper extensively. Learn from my mistakes:
-
Get a rolling cart at least hip high or prepare for back pain dialed up to 11
-
Walk slowly and make lots of points
-
Know in advance your route & plot it carefully to not go over previous ground
-
Make sure you have REALLY GOOD and UP TO DATE floor plans
-
Relax! You will find rogue AP's and it's best to be chill and not bite the heads off every user in sight
-
-
Here is what it looks like with no floor plan. I don't have one for this lower level, I'll be asking if anyone has the plans.
I'm not sure why all of these APs well outside the bounds of my building are put on the edge of the map - but damn there's a lot of APs out there...
lol

I'm using the free version, I can't seem to make them move.
-
@Dashrender Hmm... Maybe a limitation of the free version? Not sure. I haven't used that one in eons.

I do one run of the hallway then each room.

Edit: no pics for you apparently - "unexpected token" says NO!

@MattSpeller Uploads: Fail, Fail, Fail. 8-)
-
Remember, if it says 100%, it's not ready to post.

I had this problem earlier when using Greenshot locally to auto upload a screenshot to imgur.
