It has been so much fun watching this come together. For those that don't know this is my little brother.

          oh .... wow....

On one hand this is cool, on the other hand - totally not cool. The not cool part is having your conversations recorded. Unlike traditional audio recordings, which frankly probably aren't that hard to post online - text is SUPER easy to post online.

Tech like this gives me the willies because of how it can be abused. Though I'm really glad that it can be used for such a positive fashion too.

It's becoming increasingly popular for companies to record meetings and stuff and to have speech to text done more or less automatically so meeting transcripts are universally available in an easily searchable way

Interesting, that's the first time I've ever heard someone suggest that.

and it's one thing for a meeting, another out in public.

I know, I know... we are probably be recorded already through our cell phones by the NSA - but at least that information hasn't leaked out to the general public.

@Dashrender very different, yes. But still, everything you say being recorded and potentially available for people. I'm sure most companies lock that stuff and make it only available to meeting attendees and managers, but still.

This will be on the physical device not recorded to some server somewhere. There is always a security risk of course....

Yep as a public company our investment meetings, quarterly earning reports etc. are all done like this.

Yes. Soon, Google will be selling your private conversations to marketers, so that they can bombard you with ads for products that may have something to do with what you were talking about. Oh, wait... don't they already do that? 😛

While I'm sure they'll never actually sell our conversations (that'll be the NSA) they definitely will analyze our conversations for advertising.
