I may give it a shot. I'm looking to ultimately wind up in a work from home type job anyway... This could be a good step in that direction.

I've done a lot of free work for non profits. In short it's cool but be ready to walk away.. they expect the world for nothing.

I've heard that a lot. Start doing free work and it often moves from something that they appreciate to something that they think that you owe them.

I work for a NP - any of you want to volunteer some hours, I certainly won't say no. 🙂

I thought you were an MSP of sorts since you had clients... or am I just crazy.

@thecreativeone91 I work for a NP that covers some other NP's for IT services. We bill out at our average hourly wage, which is essentially charity work.

In the US you can't call that an NP. IT Services can't qualify for non-profit status.

You can donate them or work for cheap, but you can't be an NP MSP.

Yeah not really a non-profit providing a service for non-profits can be very high profit haha. (Hosptials do this and get away with it though)

To clarify - we provide services for other NP's under the same funding envelope (fed/prov $$)

Makes sense, just can't do that in the US so we are not used to it. Much more lax non-profit laws up there it sounds like. Business services can't be not for profit here.
