      Just saw this:

      https://www.softlayer.com/info/five-hundred?utm_source=spiceworks&utm_medium=banner&utm_content=500BUILD|Storage|300x600|GIF&utm_campaign=sl_branding_spiceworks_emea&utm_term={keyword}&placement={placement}#

Looks like an IBM hosting platform? And they are giving away $500 of credit on the system?

      Is that right?

Softlayer, formerly The Planet, is IBM's Cloud Hosting division. It's a direct competitor with Rackspace.

Softlayer is the fourth of the big four cloud hosts: Amazon, Azure, Rackspace, IBM/Softlayer.

Amazon, Rackspace and Softlayer are all Xen based.

Rackspace DFW is actually located inside of Softlayer.

Hmm, at £0.32 pence an hour for

              8GB Ram
              Xeon E3-1270
              Server 2012 R2
              1TB Sata in Raid

For a server in Paris, looks really great

Have you compared that pricing to Amazon, Azure, Digital Ocean or Vultr?

Very different offerings but Vultr has a similar server for $.12/hr which is a tiny fraction of that price. Just for comparison.
