Thanks! She surprised me with a cruise for a gift. It's tough to compete with that.
Awesome, where are you headed?
-
@scottalanmiller Mexico: Progreso and Cozumel. 5 day, in April

As a gift to her, I was torn between standing up a home PBX and building a VSphere test lab. But then I realized she would not appreciate either one. Oh well...I'll think of something else.

Go with the home PBX... nothing says I love you more then inexpensive calling and dedicated voicemail in your home.

And a dedicated line for the child too!

I made a home PBX for @Dominica she loved it. Especially how it blocked all advertising calls.
-
Happy Anniversary, congratulations.

Some woman do not want anything IT related for a present. Unlike Dominica who is IT

That doesn't sound quite right.

I would rather have kitchen stuff these days than IT stuff (though granted I own pretty much everything I could want already for any IT related anything). -

Maybe when she is 16 we can go there. At 5, her phone calls aren't many.

Maybe she isn't making calls because no one has given her a phone yet! Cause and effect.

We thought about making a "bat phone" kind of thing that is like a hotline to grandpa.

That makes sense. And it would not be a bad thing for safety reasons - train the girls who to call if you or Dominica were hurt and could not get to the phone.
-
Technically she already had an iphone...it just doesn't have service.
-
It does for emergencies. Even without having service or being attached to a cell phone service (sim card) a cellphone should always call 911 (at least they do in NYS).

Happy Anniversary, congratulations.

They do.
