Thanks Obsolesce.Then it must be coming out of sleep mode. Try a reboot, then hitting F12.
I've tried that as well. I've tried hard shutdown and restart from the login screen.
When starting up I just see the dots rotating in a circle, the screen turns blue and asking you to "Please wait a moment" and then...BOMB...I'm on the login screen.
As stated in the title, the options to go to the bios are bypassed. I'm really trying to avoid formatting this drive.

I don't know Windows at all, but wasn't there like a fast boot option that you had to shut it down a specific way to bypass? Is that still a thing?

To get into bios on this laptop you'd use the F2 key. I'd just hold the power button until it shuts down, power it up and keep jamming the F2 key.

Gentlemen thank you for all of your help. For some reason, continuing to tap of the F# key for results wasn't working. This particular laptop prefer for you to hold down the F key. Laptops with an attitude.

Most laptops default to having to press Fn + F2 to actually get F2.
It's because the average user have not pressed a function key ever in his life.

In every ThinkPad I've used, the boot menu is F12, and that's like 8 different models. Straight to bios is F2, but I was under the impression he wanted boot menu:

These two things likely go together - your rapid pressing of the Fn key wasn't fast enough. I've had units where it took like 30 tries to finally hit it fast enough to get my input into the BIOS before the bootloader took over.
Don't recall if I ever just tried holding the key down.
in the 2010's many laptops came with a boot to BIOS/setup button, a Tiny button typically on side of the laptop meant to help you bypass this rapid boot feature and ensure you get into the BIOS, I don't see that button on any of my HP laptops, and I'm assuming it's 'hold' the Fn key down if you have fast boot enabled.

Are you setting different admin passwords on each laptop you setup? Assuming so, why aren't you recording that somewhere?

I have different groups of laptops that are going to different dept. to Execs. Someone mixed two of the stacks together and I couldn't recall all the pwd for them.
That's when I decided to just use a Admin Key to bypass the login and reset the pwd accordingly.
However, I was met with a challenge to enter the bios to boot from the USB.
It's all good now. Once again, thank you to all!

You hold down the fn key only if the function keys are not active, as function keys, by default, during boot.
You learn that by experience, per model.
